Guided-Wave Properties of Slow-Wave Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Patterned with Non-Uniform Metasurface Unit Cells with Various Degrees of Rotation

A novel slow-wave waveguide structure is proposed, the guided-wave properties of which can be controlled by rotation nonuniform metasurface elements loaded on surface substrate-integrated waveguide. The proposed unit cell exhibit anisotropic parameters interest, i.e., equivalent permittivity and permeability along transverse direction that are different from those longitudinal direction. Such characteristics suggest propagation behaviors directions. Therefore, change as cross-unit rotates through various angles, would modify well. In this way, cutoff frequency phase constant SW-SIW flexibly rotating patterned cells over angles. Several experimental prototypes with angles implemented, their respective measured results in good agreement simulated counterparts. Thereby, method provide more flexibility for designing controlling an SW-SIW.
